Looking to Buy an NDIS Business For Sale?

This has been a hot topic for some time now.
The most common questions I find myself answering are:
- What is NDIS?
- How do I buy an NDIS?
- How much can I sell my NDIS for?
- Can you sell an NDIS without any participants?
Let's start by answering these common questions.
What is NDIS?
NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
- National: The NDIS is being introduced progressively across all states and territories.
- Disability: The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disabilities. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delays.
- Insurance: The NDIS gives all Australians peace of mind if they, their child or loved one is born with or acquire a permanent and significant disability, they will get the support they need.
- Scheme: The NDIS is not a welfare system. The NDIS is designed to help people get the support they need so their skills and independence improve over time.

How Do I Buy An NDIS?
With buying an NDIS, the company that you buy will have to be approved as a registered NDIS provider for the supports as set out in their Certificate of Provider Registration.
This is issued by the National Disability Insurance Agency.
In the case of buying an NDIS business for sale, the company is the registered entity and therefore in almost all cases, the owner of the company and the key personnel are sold from one person to the other.
A Share Sale/Transfer contract or agreement is the most common way this is formalised as well as an accountant to change the ownership, director and secretary in relation to the company.
Using the services of an NDIS consultant is recommended for the change of key personnel details on PRODA and the NDIS Commission portal.
How Much Can I Sell My NDIS For?
As always, this heavily depends on demand vs. supply as well as the number and types of registrations your company has been approved for.
There are other factors to consider such as how many participants you currently have, how long they have been a client, where they are located, the type of support they are receiving.
Your company structure, staff roles, profitability and so on.
The price they sell for can fluctuate depending on the availability on the market, for an up to date appraisal, schedule your free 10 min consult call.
Can You Sell An NDIS Without Any Participants?
The short answer is yes, many people do sell their NDIS companies without an NDIS participant/s.
